Principles

  • Every UAS operator must authenticate with standard protocol-enabled hardware to enter the airspace
  • Virtual Local Area Map (VLAM) enables regulation of ATC infrastructure with full awareness of constraints in the airspace including all operations, geo-fenced areas, obstructions and weather conditions
  • Drones avoid each other and other potential obstructions with established safety boundaries

Emergency Support Using Autonomous Drone Network

 

  • Emergency dispatch assesses emergency scene and gathers relevant data
  • Data subset provided to RPAS Traffic Control Server (RTCS)
  • RTCS calculates optimized route for closest drone maximizing distance away from geo-fenced zones
  • RTCS will await operator approval before starting mission
  • Drone will execute mission autonomously avoiding obstacles
  • Operator can monitor in remote station and at any time terminate mission taking direct control of drone via cellular connection
  • Operator will take control of drone once route has been completed to complete emergency delivery or surveillance mission
  • Operator will be supported by onboard detect and avoid systems
